How to Choose the Right Skin Moisturizer
By her-tips

When it comes to choosing a skin moisturizer there are a few things that you are going to want to take into consideration. A skin moisturizer can really be one of the most implemental and significant aspects of your makeup routine altogether and the right moisturizer will be able to soothe and soften your skin and even prevent fine lines and wrinkles from forming.

Determining Your Skin Type

The first thing you need to do when you want to choose the right skin moisturizer is determine what skin type you have. You may have dry, normal, oily or combination skin. If you are not sure how to tell what type of skin you have then there is a very quick and easy method of finding this out.

Wash your face like regular and then pat dry. Take a small piece of toilet paper and press it up against the skin on your face. If it falls right off then you have dry skin, if it sticks onto your skin then you have oily skin. If it stays on the skin for a moment and then falls off you have combination or normal skin.

More on skin moisturizer:

(continued)...... a moisturizer that is high in oil content. This will work well for you and add a lot of moisture to your skin without causing flakiness. Remember to seek out moisturizers that contain glycerin, hyaluronic acid and dimethicone, as these will not only help to treat dry skin but as well prevent it from recurring in the future.

On the other hand if you have oily skin you are going to want to go the other way for your moisturizer. Many people mistakenly assume that just because they have oily skin they should never use a moisturizer, but this is actually not true. Even oily skin requires a good moisturizer, as these moisturizers provide essential nutrients to the skin and help to keep it balanced.

Never go with a skin moisturizer that is for dry skin because this will be too moisturizing, and you really have to be careful when you have oily skin because you want to moisturize but do not want to create more oil. Seek the advice of an esthetician or dermatologist to find out what your best options are going to be here, and don’t be scared to try out a few different options to see what works best for you.
